About Garland Court Review

Garland Court Review is a literary magazine produced as a collaboration between the Harold Washington College Art and English departments. Published in the spring of each year, this magazine represents the work created and shared by the students of the college - writing and visual media from many disclipines.

The literary magazine was founded in 1962 by Prof. Carolyn Rodgers. After spending three years (2017-2019) with an electronic-only presence, Garland Court Review returned to print in 2020. Issues released since then have shown the full force of the creative talents at Harold Washington, joining the work and efforts of both the English and Art Departments.

Throughout all its iterations and media manifestations, Garland Court serves as a reflection of the current events and feelings our student body encounters. It serves to promote work that communicates and elucidates our anxieties, confusion, and pain - crystalizing these experiences into connection, community and a joy of expression we can use to move through and reflect upon life.

We are proud to present it here for you - enjoy it, cherish it, be inspired by it and share it with others.
