Bишиванка [Vy-shy-van-ka]

The vyshyvanka is a traditional embroidered shirt, worn by Ukrainians for centuries. Each pattern and color tells a story, often representing a region, family, or cultural belief. Today, vyshyvankas are worn on special occasions and as a symbol of national identity, connecting people to their heritage.

Traditional embroidery appears on towels, tablecloths, napkins, and decorative pillows. Each region of Ukraine has its own patterns, colors, and techniques that tell stories, beliefs, and the beauty of nature. Embroidery has always been a way of self-expression, creativity, and preserving cultural heritage, and today it blends tradition with modern design in fashion and home decor.
