Teresa Fourcher

Licensed Arcitect :: Senior Planner

Teresa Fourcher is a licensed Architect and Senior Planner at Solomon Cordwell Buenz.With over 20 years of experience, Teresa oversees the design and execution of complex and varied projects. She has leveraged her creative background and deep sustainability expertise on projects ranging from universities and healthcare, to downtowns and neighborhoods. Teresa is also a licensed architect, with additional experience in graphic design and landscaped environments.

Recent projects include The River District in Chicago, a 30-acre post-industrial redevelopment site on the Chicago River, and the Red-Purple Line Modernization Transit-Oriented Development Plan. Teresa is currently leading a study for downtown Maywood with the RTA. Teresa is active in the local planning community, serving on the AIA Chicago Regional and Urban Design Knowledge Community steering committee, co-chair of the Chicago Loop Alliance place-making committee, and an active member of Lambda Alpha International and the Chicago Central Area Committee.

Prior to joining SCB, Teresa held urban planning positions at Perkins+Will and Skidmore Owings & Merrill. Teresa holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. Teresa has additional design experience as a graphic designer and life experience as a figure skating coach and mom. She has spent time traveling throughout the United States, China, Italy and Spain studying public open space.
