Hannah Hirsekorn

Interdisciplinary Artist

“Making Do”

Hannah Hirsekorn is an interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago. Hannah explores gift giving and lending as a form of consumerism protest and anarchy though oscillating reciprocations between all beings. Pointing to the possibility of moral bond as a currency and deconstructing standardized market value of material and labor, her work cherishes knowledge, reuse and empowerment through making.

Hannah currently manages the Light Metals Casting, Foundry and Moldmaking Shops at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Hannah is a former metal worker turned tattoo artist as of current.
