Cordero Johnson is a 2D puppet animator in the animation industry originally from Chicago. He received a AA in Graphic Design from Harold Washington Community College, and received a BFA in Animation from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). He has worked on a multitude of animated productions such as “Central Park” , “Cyberchase”, and “F is for Family” just to name a few.
Outside of the animation industry, his independent creative endevourss and contribution to various projects include: Hip Hop Public Health music video “Community Immunity,” Double Toasted animated content, and his recently released personal project “Bunny Love,” on YouTube. Cordero currently works at Cagoule Animation in Montreal Quebec.
I started tracing popular characters such as Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse at 8 years old to make a quick quarter or two from kids at school. One day, I was forced to draw something on the spot to avoid a beat down from classmates who felt I wasn’t a genuine artist. That fear pushed me to practice daily and allowed me to draw Daffy Duck without tracing! From that moment on, I’ve been persistent in honing my craft. Now, I put that perseverance in my desire to be a 2D animator for a major animation studio. My time at SCAD allowed me to fuel my creative spirit with the finest resource to be a professional animator, making me well-versed in all aspects of animation production. My 8 years of managerial experience also plays a big part in my development, positioning me to lead others as well as work in a team setting to accomplish goals.....
