“I’m convinced that sometimes it can be about the quiet things. The whispers. I challenge myself with the mundane realities of normal life. I find the quiet light that surrounds us all. With a society that relishes in the quick, the easy, the one-time use, the screams of what can you do for me right NOW, the cacophony of noise drowns the simple. I relish in capturing those quiet moments. Over the years, the art of photography has become almost entirely a digital landscape. Some of us were left behind to keep the breath of film alive.”

Ashley Eriksen is a classically trained black and white photographer working in an array of film sizes (35 mm, 120 mm and 4x5). She is also one of less than 500 people in the United States that knows the difficult form of collodion photography. Ashley was taught by one of the leading daguerreotype artists in the United States.
